Welcome! I am a Distinguished Teaching Professor at the University of North Texas Department of Political Science, Senior Fellow at the Castleberry Peace Institute, and Deputy Director of the Peace Science Society (International) where I run the Rising Scholars Workshop. My research pursues reasons and remedies for repression, focusing particularly on perpetrators of extrajudicial killing and on post-atrocity justice and reintegration. I have published in the Cambridge University Press and journals including (for example) American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Conflict Resolution, Journal of Peace Science, Political Analysis.
I am also the Director of Humanos Otra Vez, a non-profit organization that connects Colombian makers to American markets. Our artisans are victims of war or ex-combatants or both. This initiative helps provide basic needs as they destigmatize their existence and begin building lives as war ends.
Some of my work is or has been supported by the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the National Science Foundation (NSF).
Follow me on LinkedIn, Google Scholar, and Bluesky.
